About this tool
Reports, theses, legal bundles and merged documents are easier to read and refer to when each page is numbered. Many PDFs created from scans or combined from several files have no numbers at all.
The numbers are added as text in the margin of each page, in the corner or centre you pick, in a plain readable font. You can start at any number, which is useful when the PDF is the second part of a longer document, and you can leave the cover page without a number.
The original pages are not re-compressed, so quality is unchanged. Everything runs in your browser, and password-protected PDFs must be unlocked first. Pages that were scanned upside down should be rotated before numbering.
Questions
Can I start numbering from a number other than 1?
Yes. Set the first number in the start box.
Can I skip the title page?
Yes. Tick the box to leave the first page unnumbered. Numbering then starts on page two with your start number.
Where are the numbers placed?
Six positions: bottom or top, each at the left, centre or right, with a margin from the edge.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The numbers are added on your device.
