About this tool
JPG is the usual choice for photographs because it makes small files. PNG keeps sharp edges and transparency, so it suits logos, screenshots and drawings. WebP is a newer format that is usually smaller than both, and every current browser can open it.
This converter redraws each picture on a canvas inside your browser and saves it in the new format. When you convert a PNG with transparent areas to JPG, the transparent parts become white, because JPG cannot store transparency.
Converting a JPG to PNG does not bring back detail that the JPG already lost; the file only changes container. If you need a smaller file rather than a different format, use the image compressor.
Questions
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion runs in your browser, so the pictures never leave your phone or computer.
Can I convert many images at once?
Yes. Add as many as your device memory allows and download them together as a ZIP file.
Why did my transparent PNG get a white background in JPG?
JPG has no transparency. Choose PNG or WebP as the output format if you need to keep transparent areas.
Can it convert TIFF or HEIC files?
Browsers cannot open those directly. Use the TIFF to JPG converter for TIFF files. For HEIC, export the picture as JPG from your phone first.
