About this tool
TIFF is common for scanned documents, fax images, and files from professional cameras and scanners. Most websites, email programs and phones cannot show TIFF, so converting to JPG or PNG makes the picture easy to share and upload.
This tool reads the TIFF in your browser and draws each page into a normal image. Multi-page TIFF files give one picture per page. Large scans need memory, so a very big file can be slow on an old phone.
Some TIFF files use uncommon compression, for example JPEG-in-TIFF or 16-bit colour. If a file cannot be read, the tool tells you instead of producing a broken picture.
Questions
Is it free and private?
Yes. It is free, and the TIFF never leaves your device because the conversion runs in your browser.
Does it support multi-page TIFF?
Yes. Each page is saved as its own image, numbered page1, page2 and so on.
Should I choose JPG or PNG?
JPG makes much smaller files and is fine for photos and scans. PNG is lossless and better for text and line drawings, but the files are larger.
Why can my TIFF not be read?
A few TIFF variants use compression that browsers cannot decode. Re-save the file as a standard TIFF from your scanner software and try again.
